Associate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for delivering legal support to the privacy office by managing day to day incident response and logging and monitoring company actions. In addition, will be responsible for monitoring regulations using a software program and working with the business units to implement changes necessary to meet regulatory requirements. Provide legal advice and monitor implementation efforts of business units to ensure company compliance with changing regulatory requirements. Monitor and review incoming and ongoing regulatory changes and determine their impact to the insurance business. Assign tasks to appropriate business unites for compliance with regulations using CODE solution. Partner with various business units to determine which areas are impacted. Analyze the legal risks and provide leadership with analysis to identify risks and assist in mitigation decisions. Partner with the compliance and litigation teams as required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree. Must have 1-3 years’ experience in the legal field or equivalent. Experience analyzing and interpreting statutes, regulations and policies is required. Experience in life insurance, annuities or financial services a plus. Superior computer skills including advanced knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
