Attorney - Insurance Coverage The candidate will handle and manage insurance coverage litigation, arbitration and mediation on behalf of the Company. Will develop and implement litigation strategy and manage outside counsel. Manage litigation budgets. Assist with all phases of litigation, including drafting of pleadings, responding to discovery requests, preparing witnesses and attending depositions, trials and negotiations. Analyze insurance coverage issues and claims to provide advice to claims and underwriting across a variety of risk lines including D&O, E&O, CGL, First Party Property, Specialty including contingency, event cancellation. Conduct legal research and provide timely and accurate legal advice regarding state and federal insurance laws. Draft various contracts and agreements as needed. Provide legal support to Claim Department and other business units within the organization. Engage in issue spotting, risk assessment, and problem solving on a daily basis. Should have 5-10 years of experience handling, managing or trying insurance coverage matters. Must have experience in all aspects of litigation and trial preparation. Must have general contract drafting experience. Should possess strong negotiating skills, analytical ability, excellent writing, communication and good organizational skills. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the bar of any US jurisdiction. Trial experience is a plus.
