Claims Manager - Power Generation Services Responsibilities: Provides contract claims support for Construction Management and EPC projects on large claims and supports large multiple/complex claims. Manages contract claims and risk issues related to major contract agreements and/or the prime agreement. Facilitates claims resolution and risk mitigation through the execution of contracts with major project contractors. Manages claims and execution issues with clients by preparing proper notices for contract management. Defines and refines claims and execution processes and procedures on the project through the project instructions manual and related referenced documents. May review larger equipment and contractor agreements on projects prior to commitment and provides advice on potential claim / risk issues. Manages and utilizes corporate and project specific claims and execution letter templates. Conducts necessary research and acquires supporting documentation to substantiate a position on claims or general execution issues to clients or major contractors. Responsible for writing claim response, developing claims and developing general execution letters on behalf of the Client. Updates and identifies areas of improvement to a project specific claims register. Functions as a consultant advising on claims and disputes with contractors, while also developing the actual positions for use by the client. Updates and reports progress on claims electronically in a corporate database. Trains, develops and mentors others on duties and accountability. Occasional training of other functional roles on claims and contract management.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification Requirements: A BA, BS, or MS graduate, or JD. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree. 10 + years of relevant experience on large EPC projects and contract administration.

Preferred Job Qualifications: Advanced legal/contractual agreements (suppliers/subcontractors) and risk management expertise encompassing all aspects of the EPC process. Demonstrate contract claims and management experience with large and multiple Power Generation projects. Knowledgeable of project controls policies and procedures. Excellent communicator, to include presentation skills and proven effective writing skills. Understanding of other professional cultures.
