Profile

Senior Counsel Duties: Responsible for tracking, research and analysis on all applicable laws and regulations on the federal and state level and advising the business as to impact to clients, product design and development and operational processing. Works with the Senior Counsel in the tracking, research and analysis. Leads along with Compliance Manager the Screening and Selection Services and I-9 Compliance Services Compliance Committee. Works with the Compliance Manager, Compliance Operations team, Product Management and Operations teams to ensure all products are processed and delivered in accordance with applicable international, federal and state laws and regulations. Drafts, as needed, and reviews Compliance manager prepared client facing and internal communications and presentations, and participates in panels, presentations and webinars to clients and prospective clients. Conducts due diligence on significant vendors along with the business leads, and drafts and negotiates contracts with all vendors; also drafts and negotiates reseller agreements with third party resellers. Responsible with for training on Fair Credit Reporting Act and equivalent state and international laws. Participates in product development and advises on legal requirements. Provides support to Sales and the contracts legal team in NAS on RFP responses and on client contract negotiations. Will be a member of the Legal Department and will work under the direction of and reports to the Vice President Managing Counsel for Talent Acquisition Solutions, with a dotted line to the General Manager for Screening and Selection Services and I-9 Compliance Services.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD degree is required, must be a member of the Bar. Excellent academic credentials and of 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably with a top law firm or corporation, and preferably with a focus on employment law. Thorough knowledge of employment law with expertise in the FCRA, Form I-9 legal requirements, and privacy laws. Ability to provide legal advice in a wide variety of circumstances and situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Operations, Service and Compliance. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to prepare clear and concise reports and legal materials. Ability to engage in balanced lawyering and to serve as a strong business partner to the businesses supported. Leadership skills in driving positive improvements with processes in an organization.
