E-Discovery Project Manager Duties: The candidate will work closely with E-Discovery Counsel, case teams, and service providers to develop and implement strategies to effectively handle data from collection through final review and production. The Project Manager will engage in hands-on management of collecting, processing, loading, and producing electronic data and images to and from various litigation support systems. The position requires a deep understanding of the requirements and practices of electronic discovery including the Electronic Discovery Reference Model and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The position consists of mostly project management and technical work, rather than legal work. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage vendor activity; analyze, gather and write clear job specifications for vendors where data is outsourced and follow project throughout process. Assist with culling and analyzing data loaded into various e-discovery platforms (Relativity, Clearwell, Ringtail, Concordance, etc.) Participate in all aspects of document production processing (conflict checking, preparing production, exporting production, formatting production according to specifications, meeting encryption requirements, burning/copying to media, coordinating shipping/delivery, etc.) Perform stringent quality control checks of data and load files created internally or from vendors, adversaries, or other third party sources Mastery of load file format and manipulation is essential Provide group, individual, or customized training, application support and troubleshooting assistance to users of varied abilities and experience Provide both written and verbal advice and best practices to legal teams and vendors Write clear, concise directions and summaries to legal team members and provide timely status updates Manage case data (copy to and from data shares, create data tracking logs, transfer data to and from vendors, agencies, experts, outside and opposing counsel) Coordinate and assist with the collection, processing, review and production of data from mobile devices Administer Concordance databases or databases created in other e-discovery tools available to the Law Department, such as Clearwell, Relativity, Ringtail, Logikcull, etc. (create, load, apply security, tag management, productions, etc.) Perform various Clearwell related tasks (perform collections, create databases, create productions, and any other administrative database task) Perform collections of various types of online content (social media, web sites, etc.) Coordinate the creation of, or create batch files/scripts to efficiently complete tasks Batch convert/manipulate files (images, PDFs, etc.). Must have 5+ years of pqe and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in a senior-level e-discovery technology or litigation support role.
