Bilingual Staff Attorney Candidate will be responsible for: Assisting unaccompanied detained minors throughout the Greater Houston area by providing outreach and education services to detained minors housed at the Office of Refugee Resettlement Shelters; Performing intake interviews for minors; Assessing eligibility for immigration benefits; Preparing case summaries; Recruiting pro bono attorneys when needed to further assist minors with relief; and Providing direct representation to minors and technical assistance to pro bono attorneys.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Law degree; Licensed to practice law in Texas and be an attorney in good standing; 1+ year of experience in immigration and/or family law; Proficiency in English and Spanish (speak, write and read); and reliable transportation, valid TDL, and evidence of insurability.
