Bilingual Staff Attorney The Program provides assistance to clients with immigration needs by providing low-cost, fee-for-service legal assistance in all phases of immigration and naturalization proceedings, representation in deportation or exclusion proceedings before the Immigration Court, and assistance in any matter involving immigration and citizenship. The candidate will report to the Managing Attorney and provides legal representation for immigration issues, family law issues, juvenile issues, and other areas of law. Performing client intake, analyzing cases, preparing legal strategies, preparing legal documents and court applications, appearing in court, preparing appeals, assists with office activities (including fielding calls), preparing and delivering seminars/workshops to the community, reviewing new developments in law, upholding Charities’ mission, values, and ethics, and performing any other related cases, projects, and duties assigned by the Managing Attorney.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: JD Degree (law degree) from an ABA accredited U.S. law school. Admitted/licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey. Qualified to practice immigration law in New Jersey or obtain admission promptly after starting employment. 0-1 year of experience in the area of immigration Law. Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete them on time. Excellent organization and time management skills.
