Temporary Attorney / Post Bar Law Graduate The candidate will provide legal counseling and representation including the preparation of pleadings and documents, representation of clients in state and immigration court, and with other civil law actions. May require travel and appearances in San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa county courts. Provide assistance with other legal services, as necessary. Should preferably have 2+ years of work experience in immigration, disability rights, elder or violence against women law. Must have demonstrated commitment to social justice and serving underserved API communities. Strong advocacy and courtroom skills are required. Experience in representing low income and LEP clients especially seniors is needed. Should preferably be a member in good standing of the California Bar. Experience with legal software such as Abacus is a plus. Strong preference will be given to past volunteers of the organization. Bilingual and bicultural skills relevant to the low-income API or Latino communities are desired. Note: This is a four-month, exempt position. Will work 20-40 hours/week, including some weekend and evening hours.
