Attorney/Immigration Manager Responsibilities: Will provide high level oversight and guidance to the firm-wide team’s work on specific client accounts. Keep the Relationship Partner or Director regularly apprised on the status of the account and of major escalations. Represent law firm at client presentations or meetings. Provide clients with strategic planning, general country advice, and assessments on cases not yet initiated, in coordination with regional offices. Represent law firm in business development presentations and industry conferences as required. Review emails and data on specific client accounts to ensure adherence to client protocols and SLAs. Regularly produce and review reports for specific client accounts. Create or update client-specific protocols, procedures, and policies and provide training as necessary. Manage client transitions and onboarding. Provide guidance to and assist the firm-wide teams with billing concerns relative to the specific client protocols. Recommend appropriate personnel actions, i.e. promotions, disciplinary actions, compensation reviews, and other HR matters. Complete performance reviews annually for team members, including setting goals and professional development activities for team members and helping them meet them. throughout the year (training, various projects, trying new types of cases, new responsibilities, etc.). Partner with HR to address any employee issues. Be an advocate/liaison for the team. Attend and participate in firm meetings and attorney meetings. Approve timesheets as required (where applicable). Approve time off requests in a timely manner.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: A J.D. degree and have passed a State Bar examination. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 3+ years of global business immigration experience strongly preferred; or, relevant advanced degree (e.g. JD) with equivalent experience in global immigration. Previous experience with coordinating immigration processes is highly preferred. Previous experience with international human resources, and/or global relocation highly is preferred. Previous proven managerial experience is preferred. Must have excellent English writing and oral communication skills. Secondary language skills a plus. Excellent organization and computer skills. Excellent skills in Excel, MS Word. Bilingual/multilingual skills are preferred.
