Attorney Duties: Work in partnership with Southwestern Behavioral Health and ECHO Community Health Care to address the legal issues of the patient/client population. Work with the treatment staff to improve medical and legal outcomes of mutual patients and clients. See clients twice a week in each healthcare facility thereby overcoming barriers clients face in accessing services. Provide legal assistance with issues such as substandard housing, inadequate health coverage, food insecurity, housing discrimination, income maintenance, family violence and stress inducing debt collection practices. Help the treatment staff spot issues, provide timely advice and prevent legal controversies from arising.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be admitted to practice law in Indiana. Must have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to serving the legal needs of poor people. Diverse backgrounds, social, cultural and economic experiences and language skills may apply.
