Director Enterprise Risk Management Duties : Acts as company’s linchpin for managing risk across the enterprise, including risk mitigation and risk financing, as well as having a matrix linkage to Finance, Compliance, and Quality. Develops and manages the overall risk-management program as well as risk management functions while directing the activities of subsidiary risk management functions. Provides advice and counsel to the senior management, and physicians regarding risk management, insurance, and licensing issues.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications : The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate preferred. 5+ years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in claims and risk management. Knowledge of risk models and processes that minimize losses while optimizing patient safety and profitability. Ability to lead, coordinate and motivate a team of people to accomplish micro and enterprise wide risk mitigation objectives. Ability to provide leadership and influence others. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an appropriate demeanor to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to devise and implement organization wide risk management policies. Ability to see the range of risk variations that can emerge across the IDN. Ability and agility to quickly gain a strong overall understanding of Health First’s operations and finances. Strong analytical, creative problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment of rapid change and work with all levels of the organization. Strong proficiency in strategic planning and understanding all the details that are inputs into long term organization objectives. Must demonstrate a clear understanding of relevant regulatory compliance requirements. Advanced risk, business and financial analysis skills. Ability to create long term strategic plans for business development and growth. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, management and analytical skills. Prior experience in general financial management. Ability and agility to quickly gain a strong overall understanding of Health First’s operations and finances. Ability to develop long range and operational business plans and strategy. Ability to evaluate claims and determine reserve requirements. Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues. Ability to negotiate and inform insurance brokers and stakeholders. Ability to analyze, classify and rate risks, exposures and loss experience. Ability to apply operational and legal principles to achieve conclusions and direction. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory and statutory requirements related to functional area. Knowledge of management, fiscal, administrative, and healthcare operations aspects. Knowledge of personnel management and organizational policies and procedures.
