ProfileLegal Counsel The candidate will provide employment law expertise for a world-class, non-profit, academic medical center and affiliated health care systems. A strong academic background is required. Should have completed law school and a license to practice law in the state of residence. Must be eligible for a license in Minnesota. Should preferably have 5+ years of experience to include advising clients on employment matters in the healthcare industry. Experience in one or more of the following practice areas is preferred: advising human resources, management, and physician leaders regarding employment matters involving physician and allied health staff, including recruitment, hiring and corrective action; credentialing, privileging, and peer review of employed and open medical staff member physicians; drafting and reviewing employment agreements; drafting, reviewing and advising on human resources and medical staff related policies and procedures, including specialized areas such as medical staff bylaws and fair hearing procedures.
