System Director, Risk Management Duties: Oversees the development and implementation of risk management plans and activities aimed at eliminating or reducing care-related risks to patients for the organization. Developing and through their direct reports, implementing risk reduction techniques, performing risk assessments and leading staff education programs in the areas of patient safety, high reliability and risk management. Provides organizational leadership for the risk management program - identifying, analyzing, and managing risk data, and ensuring compliance with risk management related standards required by all with the objective of improving patient safety and minimizing loss to protect the corporate assets. Collecting and analyzing of data related to patient safety events, claims, lawsuits, and other potential risks, and for identifying and communicating trends and concerns.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Master’s Degree with prior risk management experience or legal experience. JD Degree , M.D., or PhD. ; and Management experience preferred. Knowledge of the general tools and techniques of risk management. A high level of analytical ability. An exceptional level of communication skills. Certification in Healthcare Risk Management is required within 2 years of employment. If RN, State of Illinois RN license required within one year of hire. Must be a leader with demonstrated participative and team-oriented, charismatic and humane characteristics. Must be philosophically committed to a leadership style that is collaborative, generous, compassionate, cohesive and inspirational. Must be able to effectively lead teams through conflict. Familiarity with HRO principles and processes, RL6 reporting system.
