Senior Attorney The candidate will imparts the mission, values, and vision of firm Health Care and facilitates the integration of values in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. Will works collaboratively with the General Counsel of Wisconsin and Corporate Legal Affairs staff to ensure firm's structures and operations comply with relevant law, ethical business practices, and the system's mission and values. Work at the direction of the General Counsel of Wisconsin to oversee and manage legal affairs for the assigned firm region and its operating entities, including: advising and educating management on legal matters; providing legal advice to all regional entities on regulatory, compliance, and other legal matters; and communicating legal issues affecting the operations of the region, including applicable law and regulatory matters. Understands the legal structures, operating structures and finance structures of the regions, analyzes current or planned activities within those structures, and identifies and directly oversees legal work affecting the region and/or its operating entities. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, firm's Corporate Responsibility Program, firm's Code of Ethics, and relevant Policies and Procedures to ensure actions are consistent with firm's mission and values as well as organizational and professional ethical requirements. Perform other duties and tasks as requested by the General Counsel of firm. JD degree from an accredited law school (health law focus preferred) and a member in good standing of a state Bar. Should have 5+ years of experience in the area of health care regulation and/or law. In-depth knowledge of health care and provider operations, exempt organization requirements, health care regulation and compliance, Fraud and Abuse, False Claims Act, and the accreditation standards is needed. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written is needed. Understanding the mission and values of firm and the Franciscan Sisters of Mary is needed.
