Internal Control Officer Duties: Establish and manage a continuous Internal Control assessment and evaluation program for Health Care Authority's (HCA) lines of business including Medicaid and PEB in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. Develop agency-wide processes to evaluate internal controls through reviews and assessments, to report on results of reviews and to recommend improvements on internal control activities. Solely responsible for the development and management of HCA Administrative Policies relating to internal control process assessment and policy/procedure development and management. Solely responsible for the development and management of HCA Administrative Policies relating to Title II of the ADA. Review and investigate complaints regarding discrimination and accessibility of HCA's programs, services, and activities.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must have Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Experience in one of the following disciplines: auditing, regulatory compliance, internal control, or operational risk management is required. Knowledge of, and familiarity with, internal control and risk management principles. Is required. A law degree (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school or Master's degree in public administration is preferred. Advanced knowledge of laws applicable to the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Affordable Care Act, Section 1557 (Nondiscrimination) is preferred.
