HEVA Field Director The candidate will be the field-based scientific lead for HEVA in US settings, with responsibility for managing interactions by HEVA with US National and Organized Customer Group (OCG) accounts on a portfolio basis. Will facilitate HEOR research collaborations as appropriate and engaging with internal HEVA research resources to deliver insights on evidence gaps and support execution of key projects aligned with company strategy. Facilitate value- and outcomes-based evaluations in support of contracting with payer organizations. Engage in sophisticated value conversations with decision makers who require expertise in health economics, outcomes research, real-world evidence generation, and value assessment. Identify current and future real-world evidence requirements and methodologies, and effectively conveying insights internally to ensure customers' value-based evidence requirements are met. Engage as appropriate in communication regarding economic models, RW evidence findings, approved FDAMA 114/21st Century Cures Act, Section 3037 communications. Conduct of peer-to-peer level value discussions with HEOR experts within payer organizations, HTA or value framework organizations (such as ICER and AHRQ), and academic institutions. Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving US healthcare environment and implications for HEVA strategy. Maintain strong, consistent relationships with customers and HEOR KTLs, such that they are viewed as trusted scientific advisors on HEOR topics. Manage account requirements for HEOR topics on a portfolio basis, and serving as the primary HEVA field point of alignment for US Market Access. Collaborate closely with field and internal Medical resources to ensure customers' information needs are fully met and coordination is optimized. Ensure compliance with applicable SOPs in all activities. Demonstrate exceptional scientific understanding of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), combined with knowledge and experience of the US healthcare system. As appropriate, support internal training initiatives on HEOR methodologies and application. Apply foundational pharmacoeconomic and other health outcomes principles to meet the scientific evidence needs of population-based healthcare decision makers. Display strong understanding of the US healthcare environment and apply this understanding in support of field activities. Participate in training programs to maintain and develop expertise in health outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics and other subjects as appropriate. Credibly communicate complex pharmacoeconomic principles and evidence to decision makers with different levels of knowledge, as well as internal partners, and inform and support healthcare decision making. Utilize economic models, systematic reviews, and other technical tools with expertise. Understand and identify challenges and opportunities of new product development in the US payer environment. In support of all company's products (marketed and pipeline), technologies and services, demonstrate exceptional scientific and technical communication capability in meeting the scientific evidence needs of the most sophisticated evidence-driven, population-based healthcare decision makers, i.e., national health plans and pharmacy benefits managers, integrated disease networks, long term care payers, government payers, and key researchers and US healthcare policy makers. Be the principal field-based HEVA point of contact for population/value-based decision makers within designated health plans, especially including Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, Quality, and Health Outcomes/Analytics teams. Manage external HEVA engagement strategy for designated plans. Accountable for the development and maintenance of trusted advisor relationships with key HEOR, medical, pharmacy, quality improvement and health policy professionals within designated accounts or other institutions. Manage the HEOR related evidence needs of specialty healthcare plans as assigned. Identify appropriate collaboration opportunities and communicate and support internally. Display evidence of appropriate partnership with company field and home office medical, market access partners, including both medical and commercial/market access colleagues. Represent the evidence needs of health care decision makers to HEVA and other internal stakeholders to ensure that unmet needs are identified and prioritized in planning processes. Identify and develop relationships with HEOR thought leaders within assigned responsibility. Manage the evidence needs of the most sophisticated US healthcare decision makers, including major national level managed care organizations (MCOs), national pharmaceutical benefits managers (PBMs), national organizations that influence healthcare policy, and leading academic institutions and national/international level opinion leaders that focus on HEOR. Display influence and impact on the HEVA and medical research agendas across therapeutic areas by collecting, synthesizing, and communicating voice of the customer insights to internal partners from various Medical Units and other functions. Facilitate value- and outcomes-based assessments in support of contracting with payer organizations. Identify potential collaborative real-world research or other partnerships with healthcare stakeholders. As appropriate, identify and communicate internally relevant HEOR initiatives that further the scientific knowledge of evidence-driven, population-based healthcare decision makers. Facilitate real-world research, health services and other partnerships between company and investigators. Collaborate closely with HEVA Real World Investigations and other HEVA and Medial colleagues, as appropriate. Ensure appropriate compliance in all activities. Collaborate strategically with HEVA and other partners to identify opportunities to assist external healthcare decision makers or stakeholders in understanding the value of company's products, technologies and services. Identify data gaps and participate in research project teams. Facilitate discussions with HEOR researchers and experts and/or population-based healthcare decision-makers who have research proposals. Communicate and submit these proposals to appropriate internal decision-making committees for evaluation. Collaborate internally to ensure assessment of ethical considerations, scientific merit, and the technical feasibility of proposed studies, decision-support tools, dossiers, economic models, or other projects. Engage as appropriate in HEOR-related scientific discussions. Provide proactive communication regarding economic models and RW evidence findings, using approved FDAMA 114/21st Century Cures Act, Section 3037 materials. Communicate effectively to internal HEVA, Medical, External Affairs, Market Access, and other business partners as needed. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and communication of findings of health economic models and other healthcare decision support tools to appropriately inform healthcare decision-making. Connect value-based decision makers as appropriate with company HEVA, Medical or other resources to address their information needs (e.g., HEVA Business Partners, CHODs, and Medical Directors). Participate as appropriate in professional communication and dissemination at scientific congresses and other professional meetings via podium or scientific poster presentations, and authorship as appropriate on peer-reviewed publications. Viewed as highly knowledgeable in HEVA and the evolving US healthcare environment by field and home office company colleagues at all levels of the matrix. Invited to cross-functional venues to share knowledge. Develop and participate in publication plans as appropriate, collaborating with HEVA Business Partners and HEVA Communications Professionals. Demonstrate excellent teamwork and partnership with external and internal colleagues. Collaborate with field-based and home office medical and commercial partners to meet customer requests and support HEVA and medical strategy. Provide training and expertise as needed. Collaborate with HEVA, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, or other colleagues and external experts in the development of health economic materials and tools designed for sharing with population-based healthcare decision makers. Attend and contribute to medical or business partner meetings to ensure appropriate collaboration and provide scientific/educational updates as required. Communicate and align real-world evidence requirements and gaps to relevant HEVA, Medical, and Commercial colleagues for the assigned accounts. As assigned, engage in support of HEVA advisory boards or other activities that strive to understand the application and impact of current or planned HEOR evidence. Participate in business planning as required, and contribute to the development of overall HEVA strategy. Present at internal venues to inform partners about the evolving US healthcare environment, health technology assessment, or other topics. Identify and communicate customer insights on HEOR/RWD evidence gaps perceived by the most sophisticated US payer customers, i.e., national MCOs, PBMs, LTC, government, influential health policy organizations, and key academic research partners to internal teams to inform HEVA research strategy and agendas by gathering, synthesizing, and communicating customer insights on key evidence gaps. As assigned, communicate the needs of national and OCG accounts to represent the voice of the US payer to assist the development of new products. Translate customer insights to internal stakeholders in order to generate relevant HEOR research for company's product portfolio across the product development lifecycle. Demonstrate a deep understanding of and adherence to laws and regulations. Complete all required training, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, guidance's and procedures, and adhere to corporate policies and procedures. Demonstrate accountability for all necessary and appropriate legal, regulatory, and compliance review of communication materials, research or other partnerships, or other types of activities. Collaborate effectively with Compliance, Legal, Quality Assurance and other colleagues to understand and ensure adherence to relevant policies and standards. Complete all activity documentation, expense reporting and other administrative responsibilities in a timely and appropriate way.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university (e.g., M.D., J.D., Ph.D., PharmD, or equivalent). Should also have Doctoral-level training (PhD, PharmD, MD) that combines experience in health outcomes-based fields such as pharmacoeconomics or epidemiology with an understanding of the US healthcare environment and treatment settings. The preferred educational background is foundational doctoral or Master's level training in health economics or a related public health discipline. Must have 5+ years of prior experience, with a history of excellent performance success and progressive advancement in relevant field-based or other pharmacoeconomics professional roles in the pharmaceutical industry or a managed care, public sector, academic organization, HEOR research organization, or other setting in which responsibilities included population-based healthcare management and/or clinical/pharmaceoconomic communications. Must demonstrate significant understanding of national healthcare management settings and stakeholders. Should have strong scientific, pharmaceutical, health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics knowledge, with an in-depth understanding of the evolving US healthcare system. Demonstrated proficiency in managing across the portfolio and supporting strategic initiatives including health outcomes, quality initiatives, consensus standards, evidence-based guidelines, and health care policy is required. Should display strong scientific, health services and outcomes research, and pharmacoeconomics training and experience, combined with an excellent understanding of the evolving US healthcare system and population-based healthcare delivery. Educational training should include significant grounding in observational, non-experimental research methods and statistics. Experience and understanding of the evolving healthcare data environment and informatics is required.
