Associate General Counsel The candidate will support for the University's exciting and diverse research enterprise, including public and privately-sponsored medical and non-medical research both in the US and abroad, academic collaborations and exchanges. Will advise the School of Medicine and other academic and administrative units on a variety of business transactions, regulatory compliance, and general academic matters. Should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Should be licensed or eligible for immediate licensure to practice law in MA. Must have excellent academic credentials and 5+ years of experience in a high-quality legal practice, familiarity with legal issues affecting large research universities, and the willingness to handle a wide variety of legal matters both independently and as part of a team. Expertise in handling complex regulatory, intellectual property, privacy, and other issues arising out of sponsored and collaborative research, including regulation of human subject research, financial conflicts of interest and access to research data and materials, as well as significant experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for a variety of general business transactions needed. Prior experience advising faculty and administrators at a university or academic medical center strongly preferred. Application Deadline: May 19, 2017.
