Assistant Vice President The candidate will encompass form/rate filing responsibility as well. Will assist the department in the effort to ensure products comply with state and federal rules and regulations. Will assist business units in their efforts to ensure our products stay compliant and competitive. Provide communications to business units regarding regulatory updates. Respond to insurance department queries. Provide business support (as needed). State-specific variations/mandates. Provide language requirements (e.g., disclaimers, notices, benefit variations). Track/submit annual filing requirements (e.g., listing of exempt forms). Lead and execute the complaint handling process (work with claims and legal on responses to state insurance departments). Participate in any market conduct reviews, inquiries. Review administrative forms, marketing materials, product proposal output, policy issue and business requirements for compliance with state-specific mandates/language/variations as well as federal requirements. Intimate working knowledge of A&H form and rate filing procedures/requirements by state. Ability to submit and manage countrywide filing projects to state insurance departments via SERFF. Draft, revise or edit product language for compliance with state and federal laws. Law Degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree will be considered when coupled with Compliance experience. Must have 7-10 years of prior experience in an insurance company with Accident and Health exposure. Reinsurance experience is a plus.
