Attorney-Adviser (Contract), NH-0905-03/03 The candidate will participate in all aspects of the contracting process. Provide advice regarding strategies to enhance the business, fiscal and policy efficacy of proposed courses of action, that may apply to actions throughout the acquisition process, i.e., acquisition plans, pre-negotiation objective memorandums, solicitations, amendments, awards, contracts, modifications, claims, protests and appeals. Support the contract administration process by preparation and review of letters of concern, cure notices, terminations for convenience, terminations for default, assessment of liquidated damages, and other matters related to contract administration. Conducts and participates in negotiations and settlement conferences. Prepares legal memorandums in support of the Command's position, and acts as counsel in hearings and litigation representing the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) position. Provides legal advice to contracting officers and source selection personnel. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). Bar Membership: an applicant must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Must have 3+ years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Graduation from an ABA-Accredited Law School in the top 25% of the class or an advanced law degree such as an LLM may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience.
