Legal - Attorney The candidate will develop investigation plans, conduct witness interviews, and supervise evidence collection and review. Will direct the work of eDiscovery specialists, paralegals, compliance professionals, forensic auditors, and (when warranted) external counsel and external investigators. Assist the compliance function in evaluating and recommending changes and solutions to improve the policies, procedures, and internal controls implemented under the compliance program. Provide training and support to employees on education and guidance on compliance issues as well as best practices and proper procedures in conducting internal compliance investigations. Serve as a company liaison with regional, country or local prosecutors, law enforcement agents, and regulators and will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to Management and other functions of the company on the risks posed by, and mitigations solutions available to, minimize the risks posed by these government investigations. Conduct and/or direct sensitive internal investigations in a cost effective manner and in a way that safeguards the confidential or privileged nature of the investigations. Direct outside counsel or investigators, internal auditors, compliance officers, and other professional who conduct or support sensitive internal investigations. Manage the company's response to government investigations (either directly or through external counsel), including developing strategy to investigate and address the government's concerns and a strategy for effective presenting the company's position to the government entity. Train attorneys, compliance professionals, internal auditors, HR professionals, and others on investigation techniques, strategy, and processes. Update the Chief Legal Officer, the Compliance Chief, and other senior managers on evolving legal developments regarding government or internal investigations and/or areas of significant compliance risk. Provide criminal law subject matter expertise to assess the risk to the Company as a result of the facts uncovered in internal or governmental investigations. Work with global, regional, and local compliance personnel in evaluating and recommending changes and solutions to improve the policies, procedures, and internal control implemented under the compliance program. Assist in preparing periodic statistical data and major cases communications for senior management, regional and global compliance committees, and the Executive Board. A graduate of a top U.S. law school and must be a licensed attorney in good standing in one or more U.S. Jurisdictions is needed. Should have 7+ years of legal counsel experience conducting/supporting/managing investigations in a law firm or corporate setting (big law firm experience preferred). Experience managing internal investigations, including experience conducting or overseeing foreign, international, and multi-jurisdictional investigations is needed. Experience conducting witness interviews is essential. Experience participating in criminal or regulatory court proceedings, including trials is advantageous. Experience managing the collection and production of documents and electronic records in response to an investigation or in response to demands or legal process (subpoena) by a government entity is must. Experience interacting with government regulators and/or law enforcement agents
