Senior Legal Advisor To provide legal advice and support. To develop strong relations throughout the business, using knowledge to shape legal solutions. Provide legal advice as required in line with established quality and service standards. With involvement and/or support from Legal Managers and Principal Legal Advisors as appropriate, undertake complex casework and policy development work. Build strong relations with colleagues and leaders in order to champion, prioritise and embed appropriate legal advice. Support the Legal Managers and wider legal team to deliver directorate objectives, and provide an excellent legal service, including the delivery of training and legal awareness. Identify legal issues and risks, and escalate them to Legal Managers and Principal Legal Advisors.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 2+ years PQE as a solicitor or barrister (entitled to hold a practising certificate) or an equivalent period post admission as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Either experience of advocacy or willingness to develop this area. Line management experience. Established history of managing caseloads, advising on legal matters and managing enforcement activity. Able to present complex information in an easily understood, accessible format. Good communication skills and the ability to secure and maintain the confidence of a range of Commission stakeholders. Able to analyse risk and benefit within a fast-paced environment, and to reassess priorities on a continual basis. Interview dates: 2nd November 2015 Closing Date: 21 October 2015
