Compliance Manager - Western Region The candidate will be assigned 2 – 5 states within the West region, and will be the state compliance lead for their assigned states. Identify and analyze legislation, regulations or other state directives potentially impacting the company’s business. Draft cogent Compliance Instructions (CIs) communicating the impact of new laws/regulations and present CIs to committees comprised of internal operational and business areas. Document and monitor implementation action plans and escalate significant barriers through management. Provide subject matter expertise for assigned topics on compliance impact; serve as a single point of contact for business and product strategic needs, including state research of regulatory impact or barriers to proposed new business strategies. Support the Market Conduct Team during active exams and develop and manage post-exam Corrective Action Plans through to completion. Facilitate responses to regulatory inquiries or complaints and support business operations by providing reliable and timely guidance on daily regulatory issues.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should ideally have Bachelor’s or equivalent training and mastery; 5+ years of compliance/regulatory experience; or any combination of education and experience. Master’s or J.D. degree preferred. Knowledge of company’s products, systems and processes preferred. Familiarity with insurance, healthcare, legal, government/regulatory environment to understand and articulate compliance barriers and suggest compliant alternatives are required. Superior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills required. Should have excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task in deadline driven environment with competing priorities.
