Attorney-Adviser (General), GS-0905-14/14 Duties: Will be serving as the Chief of the Administrative/Civil Law Division of the Staff Judge Advocate. Will be responsible for supervising the division in all areas of general administrative law. Will also serve as attorney-adviser in areas of general administrative and contract law and as Assistant Labor Counselor. Will be relied upon to independently plan the approach and develop the solution to legal problems in accordance with applicable regulations, guidance and precedent laws. Decisions and recommendations made in regard to assigned areas are considered to be authoritative within accepted Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) policies and legal precedents.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: An applicant must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.). An applicant must currently be a member in good standing of the Bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. For GS-14/15 Grade-level: Applicant must have 3+ years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the Bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Graduation from an ABA-Accredited Law School in the top 25% of the class or an advanced law degree such as an LL.M. may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience.
