Profile

Chief Compliance Officer Responsibilities: Lead MGIC’s compliance and ethics program; create, administer and maintain policies, procedures, standards and controls to prevent, detect, and remediate illegal, unethical or improper conduct and meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as requirements imposed by customers. Promote and increase awareness of communication programs, standards of business conduct, and understanding of new and existing compliance issues, advise and train business units in carrying out their compliance programs, and manage our Compliance Hotline and related online compliance reporting system. Periodically monitor and report results of the company’s compliance efforts to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and senior management.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree required; Masters of Business Administration or JD Degree preferred. Compliance certifications/credentials preferred. 7+ years of relevant work experience in a compliance/regulatory role, preferably in a consumer finance setting; experience in the development, initiation, maintenance, and revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of a compliance and ethics program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk assessment, monitoring and investigation, testing and training activities, and experience with GRC systems preferred. In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable legal, regulatory and compliance requirements for consumer finance companies, including but not limited, to RESPA, FCRA, FDCPA, SAFE Act, ECOA, Fair Housing Act, HOPA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and similar federal and state laws and regulations. Some familiarity with state insurance laws preferred. Demonstrated management and leadership skills, the ability to collaborate and influence change at the highest levels of the organization, and the demonstrated ability to make final decisions regarding the resolution of complex corporate or functional business problems independent of the popularity of the decision. Preferred experience in developing and maintaining effective lines of communication, including the management of a Compliance Hotline. Experience conducting investigations and managing the entire process, including the management and tracking of the investigation lifecycle and the remediation process. Experience in creating, tracking and maintaining employee compliance and ethics training programs preferred.
