Acquisition Program Manager, GS-1101-07/07 Duties: The candidate develops well rounded individuals who can deal effectively with change and complexity within the Agency environment as it relates to the Program Management Career Field. Performs a variety of specific tasks designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying Acquisition Program Management principles, methods and techniques and understanding the fundamental precepts of defense systems acquisition. Carries out special projects designed to facilitate the full use of the intern's training and development. Performs a variety of specific tasks to develop knowledge and skill in applying Acquisition Logistics principles, methods and techniques. Performs tasking which are designed to increase knowledge and skill in the acquisition program management field and related areas.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: For GS-07: The candidate should have completed 1 academic year of graduate level education, or Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement. May qualify if meet one of the following: Should have completed a four-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in one of the following: (a) Class Standing - upper third of the graduating class based on completed courses in the college, university, or major subdivision; (b) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in major field or the required courses in major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. (c) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. OR Have one full year (18 semester hours or the equivalent) of graduate level study, or a Bachelor's or higher degree, e.g., LL.B., J.D., LL.M., Ph.D., in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position. Such fields include business administration, industrial management, industrial engineering, industrial psychology, public administration, political science, or government. OR Have 1+ year of specialized experience that provided knowledge of clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Should have knowledge of acquisition program management principles, techniques, requirements, methods and practices to carry out tasks to support planning, organizing and managing weapon systems acquisition. Knowledge to perform tasks to assist in the development of acquisition logistics that support the operation, maintenance, and support of the system. Application Deadline: September 29, 2017.
