Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Administration The candidate will exhibit an active research agenda. Will work with students, faculty and the Department Chair as the principal resource person for all matters relating to the Master of Public Administration Program. Contribute to teaching in the core of the MPA program. Secondary MPA teaching areas may include courses related to Public Safety with a Homeland Security/Emergency Management emphasis; Public Management or Public Policy. Teaching assignments may include classroom, hybrid and online classes.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: PhD or Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Management, or Public Planning from an accredited university and meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS). Persons with substantial government experience with a JD Degree in Law may apply. Must be willing to teach online. Preferred: Preference will be given to those candidates who prefer a management approach to the study of Public Administration; demonstrate administrative and teaching experience; have experience teaching online; show a record of peer reviewed publications; and have served for 3+ years' experience in an academic environment.
