ProfileLegal Counsel The candidate will work for department: Finance. Reports to: Director In – House Counsel. The position will play a vital role in supporting the Head of the U.S. Legal Department. Will manage daily advertising law topics for the brands, and draft and review a variety of commercial contracts. This role will require an attorney that is a creative problem solver, a team player, detail oriented, and someone that can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Draft and review a variety of commercial contracts, and facilitate contract execution. Review marketing materials and artwork for compliance with laws and regulations (digital, television, and print). Review company communications and claims, including social media for compliance with any applicable court orders or consent decrees. Review potential legal claims to determine validity. Coordinate with North America Regional counsel, Canadian Counsel, and global legal colleagues on intellectual property issues and other legal matters. Assist with potential/pending litigation. Advise and coordinate with key stakeholders to identify and resolve business and legal issues and provide ongoing counsel, advice, and support. Manage the Spider Contract Database, including uploading of contracts and submission of Spider access applications. Assist with board consents, resolutions, minutes, and other corporate entity maintenance matters. Train colleagues on legal and company policies when necessary. Conduct and complete compliance reports and draft risk assessment responses. Supporting other projects and initiatives where legal support is needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have degree from Law School/ University. Must be Duly licensed member of the governing bar association and in good standing. Should have 2-4 years of experience. Must have experience with adverting law/regulations. Should have experience with drafting and reviewing commercial contracts. Experience working in-house for a large or international corporation preferred. Strong intellectual property background preferred.
