Analyst, Tax Responsibilities: Prepares federal and state income returns, estimated payments and multi-year forecasts. Prepares state apportionment work papers for separate filing and combined filing states. Responds to notices regarding federal and state tax issues. Assists with tax audits of federal and state income tax returns. Assists with Business Unit and Company-wide projects as necessary. Helps identify and implement improvement opportunities in the tax compliance process to make it more efficient and effective. Provides support by gathering information from and communicating with Finance personnel across the BUs. Assists in the preparation of Journal Entries for income and franchise tax accruals, payments and refunds and other tax items. Analyzes and reconciles income tax accounts including deferred taxes. Identifies and evaluates the justification of any variances. Assists in identifying, analyzing, researching and developing solutions to tax items as issues and projects arise. Provides assistance in the preparation of written analysis for tax positions. Assists with monitoring governmental activities pertaining to tax law changes that impact Company financial and tax reporting.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation; 2-5 years in an accounting firm, law firm and/or corporate setting with tax experience in solid tax research, federal and multi-state income tax; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Desirable: Experience with OneSource Tax Software (preferred). CPA (preferred) Master’s Degree (strongly preferred). JD Degree and LLM a plus.
