Event Coordinator Duties: Planning, developing and consolidating a comprehensive logistics checklist for events. Tracks all event support actions to ensure they are timely, efficient, well-communicated and within prescribed guidelines. Tracking and compiling event registration information and preparing participant lists and reports. Establishing and coordinating support facilities. Maintaining, tracking and reporting all iterations of the event budget and spending plan. Ensure that event participants are provided the highest level of support from arrival to departure. Ensuring all fiscal expenditures for events are within Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications:
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating or modifying an organization’s events (e.g., Workshops, Partnership Meetings, Special Occasions) to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Examples of qualifying experience may include: developing an agenda for all planning stages of an event; preparing participant list and tracking event registration information or coordinating support facilities to include room set-ups, food services, audio-visual equipment and other event related logistics.
OR - Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
A. Have successfully completed a master’s or equivalent graduate degree. OR
B. Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree. OR
C. Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR
D. Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve 1+ year at the next lower grade level.
