Legal - Assistant General Counsel - Technology and IP Transaction – VP Duties: As a member of the Technology, IP, Sourcing and Privacy practice group, part of a dynamic and collegial global team of in-house lawyers that crafts fresh approaches to tackling some of the toughest legal challenges of the information age in a highly-regulated environment. Collaborative and a self-starter and proactively assess legal risks as work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Immersed in intellectual property law and greatly enjoy drafting and negotiating all types of agreements, from simple procurement and consulting contracts to large and complex technology and outsourcing agreements. Provide insightful and immediate counsel. Comfortable working hand-in-hand with global colleagues handling the complex cross-border legal issues of a multi-national bank. Creative problem solver who is open to new ideas and new approaches.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. 5+ years of legal experience as a transactional legal counsel with experience in technology, intellectual property and commercial transactions. Preferred: A mix of financial services and in-house experience is a plus. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and consistent follow through. Strong written and oral communication skills. Robust analytical and computer skills. Common sense, sound judgment, and a good sense of humor. Proven track record of meeting deadlines, learning quickly, taking the initiative, working proactively, being resourceful and shouldering additional responsibility.
