Senior Manager, AML Compliance Officer The candidate will be maintaining an awareness of, and monitor, the BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory environment for emerging regulation and policy statements, along with relevant trends and industry best practices applicable to SBUS’ banking operations. Will be providing regulatory drafting assistance in connection with applications filed on behalf of the Bank with its US regulators.Assisting with the coordination and management of regulatory examinations and Internal Audits for the SBUS Houston Branch Office. Reviewing and responding to regulatory BSA/AML and OFAC examination reports for the Bank's Houston-based businesses and drafting responses on behalf of applicable business units. Reviewing Internal Audit reports to ensure that the Bank's Houston-based business units respond with appropriate action. Drafting and updating BSA/AML compliance-related policies and procedures for the Bank's Houston-based businesses. Serving as the BSA/AML regulatory liaison for the Bank’s Houston-based businesses.Coordinating with the BSA/AML Officer and OFAC Compliance Officer, as necessary, to ensure that appropriate systems, policies and rules are in place to effectively comply with applicable BSA/AML and OFAC regulations. Communicating regularly with senior Houston management to ensure compliance with the SBUS BSA/AML Compliance Program by the Bank's Houston-based businesses. Designing, providing and monitoring regular BSA/AML training pertinent to Houston personnel on relevant regulatory matters and Bank policies. Responding to internal inquiries from banking and investment banking personnel related to BSA/AML requirements and the SBUS BSA/AML Compliance Program. Identifying and investigating weaknesses in relevant BSA/AML policies, procedures, systems and training specific to the Bank’s Houston-based businesses and recommending corrective action.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, policy or similar field. Advanced degrees or professional banking licenses/ designations is preferred (JD degree or MBA preferred). Should have 5-7 years of BSA/AML experience in the financial institution or management consulting environment. Expert knowledge of both federal and state AML regulatory requirements and expectations is essential. Strong preference for candidates with past experience working for financial institutions regulated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is essential. ACAMS Certification is preferred. Experience in corporate banking, including corporate lending and global transactional banking is strongly preferred.
