ProfileAssistant General Counsel - Credit Card Litigation - VP The candidate will manage complex litigation, including consumer class actions, and provide legal advice, services and counsel on matters affecting the Credit Card business area. Will work with management and internal/external counsel on a significant volume of litigation matters. Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, prepare motion papers and pleadings, analyze civil complaints and subpoenas and appear in court as required. Prepare case management reports, provide legal advice to the Credit Card business and liaison with regulatory authorities. Represent the interests of Bank in Credit Card related litigation matters.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Law/J.D. degree. Should be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. Must have 5-10 years as a litigator in a corporate law department and/or law practice. Should have experience preparing legal documentation. Experience in Consumer Financial Services litigation in Retail Banking or Credit Card is required. Working knowledge of Truth In Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Regulation Z, and state consumer fraud statutes is needed. Consumer Financial Services litigation experience in Retail Banking or Credit Card is essential.
