Assistant Attorney General I-II Candidate will represent the State of Texas at legal proceedings to locate, establish, enforce, modify or terminate court orders for child support and medical support. Represent the State of Texas in administrative hearings. Provide legal advice, consultation and technical assistance to the Child Support Program. Develop and deliver training. Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. Compile with all agency policies and procedures including applicable security and safety rules, regulations and standards. Perform related work as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D. degree. Should be licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas. Must be member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. All of the above qualifications for an AAG I, and: 1 year of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney. 2 years of experience in handling Family Law cases is preferred. Jury trial experience is desired. Experience in handling a high volume legal practice is preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is desired. Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code is required. Skills in legal writing, mediation and negotiation as well as serving as a trial lawyer, preparing sound opinions, conducting investigations and performing legal research are needed.
