Attorney The candidate will work with local nonprofit community development corporations and neighborhood associations on targeted inner-city community improvement initiatives. Will focus heavily on: real estate transactions and civil land-use litigation seeking vacant home reclamation for affordable housing, community re-investment advocacy with lending institutions, and land use disputes before municipal planning and regulatory bodies. Must have the following: a Missouri law license (or the ability to obtain a Missouri license soon after hire), sensitivity to diverse communities, ability to work independently, excellent judgment, strong reasoning and writing abilities, good organizational habits, highly motivated, and the ability to learn quickly. Preferred credentials include: strong academic achievements (including moot court, law review, law journal, or practical clinical experience), litigation experience, background in community development, some knowledge of banking regulations or a background in business and commitment to public interest law.
