Senior Land Use Attorney The candidate should have strong academic credentials, excellent writing and speaking skills, familiarity with the land use/zoning process in various jurisdictions, and experience playing a major role working independently and on teams in complex land use matters. Must have 7+ years of experience. Should preferably have substantial experience representing property owners/developers to conduct due diligence, obtain project entitlements, including general plan amendments, specific plans, subdivision map approvals, zoning amendments, development agreements, use permits, etc., with strong negotiating skills. Should also be familiar with federal and state law relating to endangered species, water, wetlands, coastal resources, historic preservation, and affordable housing. An excellent working knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is important, including the ability to supervise the preparation of CEQA documents. Should preferably also have extensive experience speaking at public hearings and knowledge of municipal law generally. Must have extensive experience in land use and development work and is knowledgeable in a number of these areas. California Bar admission is required.
