Attorney, Motion Picture and Business Affairs The candidate will be responsible for drafting and negotiating deals and agreements in all areas of content development and production related to motion pictures, including services agreements for producers, writers, directors and actors, option/first look agreements, rights/purchase agreements, distribution agreements, production services agreements, co-venture agreements, and other development and production-related agreements. Reviewing and evaluating projects from the perspective of copyright, trademark, right of privacy and other intellectual property and legal considerations; evaluate chain-of-title and derivative rights issues. Creating deal structuring and problem solving. Will work in partnership with the senior management of on all motion picture projects, and will work in conjunction with members of the company’s legal and business affairs group on other entertainment projects, such as television and digital content development, production and distribution. Must have 10+ years of broad experience in motion picture development, production, distribution, and finance. Experience working in a studio, network or entertainment company environment is a plus. Should have a strong background in copyright law and intellectual property matters. Must excel at drafting, have excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation, interpersonal and analytical skills, and can manage competing priorities in a time-sensitive environment. Experience drafting and negotiating attachment/development agreements, writers’ agreements, and production services agreements is essential. Experience in television and digital entertainment development, production, and distribution is a plus. Knowledge of advertising and marketing law, including Federal Trade Commission and Children's Advertising Review Unit guidelines and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act a plus. Must have JD degree from an accredited law school, and a member of the California State Bar.
