Senior Vice President, Business Affairs The candidate will be negotiating, structuring and drafting various types of deals and agreements typical in the television industry. Draft, negotiate and review for execution a variety of above and below-the-line agreements for feature animations including; development deals, writers, voice actors, producers, directors and consultants. In connection to feature animation, draft rights acquisition, co-productions, and production services agreements (PSA’s). Handle guild related matters and local 839 union agreements. Draft and distribute memos summarizing talent approvals, consultations and rights for feature animated production. Advise and interface with production, accounting, finance, labor and employment, marketing, promotions, consumer products, insurance, tax, distribution, trademark, and clearance teams on motion picture related matters. Draft and distribute memos summarizing talent approvals, consultations and rights for motion pictures. Supervise credits process for motion pictures to ensure compliance with studio precedent, contract and guild requirements. Review and analyze chain of title and prepare chain of title memos for motion pictures. Review scripts and programming for clearances and potential legal risks. Provide advice and prepare documentation with respect to related trademark, copyright, corporate, antitrust, tax and labor matters in coordination with other Paramount departments and legal counsel. Provide counsel to senior executives regarding issues relating to the international theatrical distribution and marketing of motion pictures. Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest development in the law and technology as they relate to the development, production and distribution content. Must be member in good standing of California Bar and JD from accredited law school. Should have 8+ years of relevant experience in a Television, motion picture studio, production company, network or law firm and 5+ animation industry experience. Experience with the animation guild- local 839 is required. Transactional experience is needed. Experience drafting and negotiating animation, live action, television, and/or other entertainment contracts a plus.
