Legal Counsel, Music DUTIES: Focus on drafting and negotiation of all artist agreements for various Red Bull music activities relating to live events, studio recordings, artist touring, radio, artist collaborations, audio-visual content, sound recordings, music publishing and marketing initiatives; Negotiate and manage all collecting society relationships with key organizations including ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, Sound Exchange and Harry Fox; Negotiate programming, acquisition and licensing agreements related to Red Bull content in areas of music programming and third party licensing agreements with relevant music delivery platforms and services across all forms of media; Draft and negotiate agreements for U.S. music publishing division for all forms of distribution related to Red Bull Music Publishing catalog; Provide legal and clearance support in executing all third party clearance documentation related to media and marketing initiatives (including composer agreements, master use licenses, synchronization licenses, mechanical licenses and live event rights);Build framework for long-term artist programs as part of media and marketing initiatives among opinion leaders and curators in the music industry for all of Red Bull music and culture activities in the U.S.; Provide legal support for negotiation and monitoring of third party music catalogs included as part of Red Bull audio portfolio; Together with Red Bull Media House in Austria, manage and support: form rights agreements, manage rights clearance process, insure rights management compliance, monitor and communicate options and term expirations and manage copyrighted related materials.

Qualification and Experience

REQUIREMENTS: Member of the California Bar; 5+ years of experience practicing music-focused entertainment law; In-House or Law Firm (preferably AmLaw 100) experience with established music industry practice a must; Top 20 law school; Established relationships within the US music industry; Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills for the production and licensing of media assets; Self starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a high volume, fast-paced environment; Ability to work efficiently and with minimal supervision; Ability to meet demanding deadlines without sacrificing the quality of work product; Excellent multitasking and organizational skills; Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and creative personnel; Team player willing to work with other attorneys and staff at all levels; Excellent problem-solving skills and pragmatic legal judgment; Ability to prioritize dynamic workload and effectively meet deadlines in a fast paced environment; High degree of flexibility and availability to travel as needed.
