Manager Content and Programming Duties: Responsible for structuring and negotiating all aspects of content distribution agreements for general entertainment cable networks, national sports cable networks, and Premium Networks for company’s satellite platform, as well as negotiating VOD and digital rights across all media platforms (e.g., TV Everywhere, OTT, SVOD, EST, second screen, download, interactive, etc.). Initially, focus will be on understanding the key terms of company’s content distribution agreements, primarily via reviewing and analyzing existing content distribution agreements, and assisting with the creation of a centralized data base of key agreement terms. Thereafter, integrate into Content and Programming team with responsibility for reviewing and analyzing contracts and proposals; conducting market and competitive research and analysis; preparing financial analysis and modeling; determining packaging and distribution strategies; negotiating and structuring content distribution agreements (linear and digital); and preparing presentations related to contracts and renewals. Collaboration with many different internal cross functional teams (e.g., marketing, engineering, digital products group, legal, finance, accounting, operations, etc.) and external third parties (primarily content providers).
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: An MBA and/or a J.D. degree is preferred. A CPA or B.S in Finance also will be considered with the appropriate skill set. 5+ years of work experience, with experience in the content or distribution licensing businesses (linear and/or digital) highly preferred. Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical and critical thinking skills are paramount. Other key skills: excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills; being highly attentive to details; being proactive and a self-starter; and having the ability to grasp complex concepts. Must have the ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast paced environment, prioritize competing deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision. Must be collaborative and a team player. A strong understanding of contracts as well as financial models and business plans is required. Being adept with the full suite of Office products PowerPoint, Excel and Word is necessary.
