Director, Distribution Business Affairs Duties: Will be responsible for TV Distribution Business Affairs. Will support company's television distribution activities, with an emphasis on US basic cable, broadcast and pay television. This position will also be responsible for working with company's production business affairs team with respect to off-network distribution rights for company's original productions. These businesses include: Basic cable, subscription pay television and broadcast networks, together with cable and Internet free-on-demand extensions. Subscription video-on-demand and ad-supported over-the-top/Internet distribution. Distribution of off-network series to cable, broadcast syndication and SVOD buyers, including working closely with production business affairs on off-network distribution rights. The position is operationally integrated within the business unit and will support distribution across all aspects of deal management and administration: Work closely with sales groups on distribution deal structure, planning and strategy. Work with sales planning team on distribution initiatives. Handle drafting on agreements, term sheets, offer letters and correspondence. Rights and library management across other media-convergent lines of business within company. Management of MFN terms and technology commitments across deals and lines of business. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification Requirements: A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited institution. The candidate should have 5+ years’ experience in developing and negotiating distribution and strategic partnership agreements with traditional and emerging media companies. Must also have outstanding academic credentials and relevant legal/business affairs experience with a major studio, major law firm and/or media company that deals extensively with major studio content providers. Should have confidence - inspiring and problem-solving personality. Must have an ability to function independently and handle a large volume of deals. Should also have strong analytical skills combined with a well-developed business acumen in order to provide concise, actionable advice to executives. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with careful drafting, are essential.
