Senior Counsel, Content Protection Technology The candidate will draft and negotiate, in a fast-paced business environment, complex agreements containing technology, security and content protection requirements for a wide variety of film and television distribution deals, including distribution through OTT platforms as well as cable, satellite, IPTV and digital terrestrial television. Will support and provide content protection advice to firm executives in a number of different distribution divisions, including the home entertainment, pay television, basic television and digital media divisions. Represent firm in standards setting bodies and cross-industry consortia focused on a wide range of media delivery formats and content protection technologies. Be responsible for participation in the drafting and negotiation of LLC agreements and similar corporate formation documents and complex technology licensing agreements. Be responsible for drafting and negotiating services agreements and in-licensing technology agreements to support the anti-piracy group and new content protection initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should be a law school graduate. Must possess California Bar admission. Substantial experience at both a top tier law firm and in an in-house position required. Must have excellent first chair negotiation, drafting and analytical skills in complex matters. Experience in the areas of technology transactions and content protection are a plus. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word essential.
