Associate Attorney (Regulatory/Transactional) – Energy The candidate will be representing regional and national companies in the business of renewable power generation and merchant transmission. The ideal candidate will possess 3-4 years of experience, and will have served as an energy attorney in private practice or in house with an energy development or transmission company, working on administrative proceedings, interconnection matters or transactional matters, served as a staff regulatory attorney with a utility in the region, as a staff attorney at a PUC in New England, at FERC in the electric regulatory side, or with a northeastern RTO/ISO. The candidate will possess working familiarity with: the structure and function of electricity markets and ISOs; wholesale energy contracting; federal law and FERC regulations and procedures governing merchant generation and transmission; and legal issues relating to the development, interconnection, and regulation of generation and merchant transmission. The candidate will possess superior research, writing and administrative litigation skills. Maine Bar membership required.
