Director of Talent Management The candidate will report to the NMP. Will assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the firm's Talent Management Department. This includes all strategic and operational people-related aspects of the firm, including design and delivery of all human resources advice and services to the firm's Partners and employees. Lead talent management and contributing to the firm's strategy - the aim is to ensure the firm is able to meet the changing needs of the Practice Groups and business services departments across the firm - this is particularly crucial given the strategic shifts occurring in the legal services market. Advise, coach and support the firm's Partners day-to-day on a range of Practice Group-related issues including performance issues, management conversations and conflict situations - this entails anticipating and managing the risks and likely reactions from those involved to lead to best possible outcomes. Develop the firm's employment brand and talent pipelines for graduates and lateral hires, and ensuring the firm delivers on the desired experience, leveraging people's potential. Review and drive continuous improvement of all Talent Management policies, procedures and resources across the talent value chain from attraction, recruitment and selection through career and professional development to engagement, retention, performance management and reward - this will include ensuring firm delivers all HR services and products in a timely, contemporary and efficient way, as well as keep the firm at the forefront of HR thinking. Manage processes in relation to regulated and legal obligations in connection with talent at firm, for example, practicing certificates and broader employment related issues in connection with recruitment and benefits. Maintain the internal and external profile of the Talent Management Department by engaging and building relationships with key stakeholders across and beyond the firm - the Director will ensure the team continues to bring a service focus to internal clients and communicate well inside the local firm, with Regional and Global leads and outside firm. Prepare the annual budget for the Talent Management Department and close oversight of departmental costs, forecasts and budget management accounts and reporting. Lead and inspire the Talent Management team with a view to retaining and developing the existing cohesive team and ensuring it maintains a high level of morale, engagement and communication, and remains outcome-driven, people-focused, approachable, collaborative across the firm and absolutely committed to success.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have an advanced degree (Bachelor or higher), preferably in law or human resources, business or another relevant discipline. Must have 8+ years of experience working in a professional services or financial services environment, preferably with global experience and ability to work with other cultures. Should have extensive experience across the full range of human resources functions including technical expertise in workforce planning, recruitment, remuneration, employment relations, organizational development, learning and diversity.
