Senior Worker's Compensation Claims Specialist - Major Case Unit Candidate will handle commercial Workers' Compensation Claims of high exposure and complexity. Will resolve claims according to Best Practices and within authority limits. Regularly communicates with customers and brokers. May be dedicated to handle claims for specific accounts.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or related industry experience. Related experience may include previous experience in an office environment that required computer work, organization, strong communications, customer service and negotiation, experience gathering data, designing and testing solutions to problems, and formulating plans as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment. 8+ years of workers' compensation claims handling experience is required. Complex/catastrophic experience is preferred. Must have experience handling Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia jurisdictions. 7+ years of claims handling experience with 5+ years’ Catastrophic/Complex Claims Experience is preferred. AIC, SCLA and/or CPCU designation is desired. 8+ years of workers' compensation claims handling experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 10+ years of workers' compensation claims handling experience without Bachelors Degree OR 6+ years of litigation experience with a J.D. degree. Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment is required. Advanced knowledge of the legal statutes and procedures and skills of claims handling are needed. Must possess an ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster license. Negotiation and customer service experience is needed. Should be computer literate.
