Attorney Recruiting Manager The candidate works with firm and office recruiting committees to develop and implement an overall recruiting strategy and program to best present firm to candidates on campus. Develops ongoing relationships with career placement directors; serves as primary contact between law schools and firm. Sources appropriate candidates through law school placement directors, and various campus organizations. Manages all aspects of the on-campus recruiting process. Oversees the interview process, communications, and databases. Manages the planning of summer associate programs and related events. Coordinates and conducts mid-summer and summer-end performance reviews. Prepares agendas for recruiting committee meetings; attends and participates in meetings; provides support for committee . Works with practice group leaders to determine short-term and long-term lateral associate needs. Analyzes and reports on internal and market trends in attorney recruiting. Develops relationships with various search firms and works with Human Resources to negotiate fee agreements. Manage lateral associate interviewing process including identifying, presenting and interviewing appropriate candidates and extending offers. Ensures compliance with Firm’s hiring policies and practices and AAP guidelines. Oversees coordination of Bar Review and Exam process. Ensures the successful integration of all new associates from orientation to assignment of Mentors and Buddies. Coordinates logistics for attorney development and training programs. Works with Firm and Local Hiring Partner(s), committees and Director of Attorney Recruiting on initiatives, projects and assignments. Performs other duties as assigned. Leads by example; establishes clear expectations; sets direction and priorities; ensures that work levels are balanced among all staff; resolves internal staff issues in a timely manner; keeps staff informed of all appropriate information; builds effective team; delegates at appropriate level. Facilitates the development of staff by providing opportunities and support; provides timely feedback on work product; regularly coaches, evaluates, and recognizes staff performance and accomplishments. Establishes/adheres to Department budget; seeks opportunities to improve Department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations. Directly supervises assigned non-supervisory employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of work and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year accredited college or university. Should have 6+ years of related experience, 2 of which were in a supervisory capacity or, equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written and oral communications skills is essential. Strong analytical skills is essential. Proficiency with technology is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees, and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients and vendors is essential. Advanced arithmetic skills (compute rate, ratio, percent; able to draw and interpret graphs and charts) is essential. Document Management: MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Document Management Systems, Adobe Reader is essential.
