Senior Corporate Counsel Employment The candidate will be the primary point of contact for the HR teams and work on a broad range of individual and collective employment law related issues. Will also provide day-to-day employment law related advice to our management teams in the fulfillment centers and set up training plans and conduct training sessions on site. Will be expected to work very closely with our EU-wide colleagues, as well as the global employment law team based in Seattle. Responsibilities will include: advising the HR teams on all employment related matters, namely disciplinary proceedings, health and safety, performance management, consultation; training the HR teams on new legislation, develop and implement forms and processes; advising the business on strategic questions, which will include all the topical issues of the day; drafting and implementing employment policies and standard documentation in close cooperation with the HR teams and stakeholders across the EU; reviewing and drafting of works agreements with works councils; proactive planning, advising and implementing legal and compliance programs and improvements to support and protect the business; handling administration and resolution of issues arising in existing relationships as well as pre-litigation disputes; managing our specialist outside counsel; support business in dealing with relevant regulatory issues.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should be fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications. Should have 10+ years of post-qualified legal experience with 5+ years at a reputed law firm with focus on employment law. Experience in employment law related matters including collective employment law topics, negotiation and litigation. Strong commercial background. High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European and Global legal teams. Capacity to lead projects and coordinate external advisors. Strong drafting, negotiating and deal-making experience are a must, as are project management skills and top analytical skills.
