Associate General Counsel - Labor and Employment The candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to key partners in Human Resources including Diversity, Data Analytics, HR Compliance, Recruiting, Compensation and Benefits, and People Operations management, and other cross-functional stakeholders regarding diversity analytics, wage and hour issues, equal pay, contingent workforce matters, employee benefits and compensation programs, leaves of absence and accommodations, and global mobility, as well as other substantive employment law areas. Will manage a team of attorneys with responsibility for providing advice and counseling to the same. Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the above substantive legal areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice to the Employment Law Group and relevant stakeholders. Manage and/or provide support on pre-litigation and litigation matters relating to the above substantive legal areas. Provide advice and develop strategy with senior leadership on company-wide initiatives affecting employees. Manage employment law-related projects, including privileged internal audits and processes reviews, new policy creation and implementation, and creation and delivery of training programs. Draft and edit employment-related documents and processes. JD degree and membership in at least one state Bar is needed. Must have 12+ years of experience in labor and employment counseling and/or litigation. New York or California Bar Membership is preferred. Experience with California employment law is preferred. Experience with international employment law issues is preferred. Should have 5+ years of in-house experience. Experience with counseling on, or litigation related to, California and/or federal wage and hour laws are needed. Experience with counseling on contingent worker issues is advantageous. Employment litigation experience and experience coordinating and driving the completion of projects (including litigations) is essential.
