ProfileEmployment and Labor Counsel The candidate will provides employment and labor law counseling on a wide array of subjects to the Company and its subsidiaries. Will provide advice and counsel regarding a broad array of labor and employment law related issues, including: recruiting, hiring, discipline and termination, disability accommodations, compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as internal investigations and litigation avoidance. Manage labor and employment litigation plus administrative proceedings. Manage work of outside counsel and associated costs. Provide training to community management on a variety of legal issues. Prepare various Legal Department reports. Provide supervision of Administrative Assistant in connection with day-to-day administrative needs and Paralegals in connection with Support Center, regional and community employment matters and disputes and, as appropriate, Human Resources programs and initiatives. Perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. JD degree and 4+ years of related experience in an established law firm and/or corporate legal department. Currently licensed to practice law. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal is needed. Knowledge of local, state and federal employment and labor laws are advantageous.
