Associate General Counsel - Employment Law The candidate will act as a member of the Corporate Legal Department with a concentration on employment law compliance across all divisions of the company. Will report directly to the EVP and General Counsel but work closely and collaboratively with the SVP of Human Resources, the heads of each operating division and the SVP of Labor, and their direct reports. Provide support to all departments to foster compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to employment and labor. Provide support to HR in employee hiring, discipline and terminations (including grievance and arbitration process). Help develop and implement policies and practices that mitigate risk and promote compliance with existing and developing law is employment. Promote and maintain governance and compliance matters generally with strong understanding of location needs and mindset, including working with Human Resources to educate and train workforce in employment law issues. Assist with local labor grievance and arbitrations, workers' compensation litigation cases, in collaboration with the General Counsel, Human Resources, Labor and Operations. Collaborate with local outside counsels. Should have a J.D. degree and license to practice in one or more states. Must have 5-10 years of relevant legal experience. Employment law or labor relations law experience is required. Experience managing investigations is needed.
