ProfileGeneral Counsel The candidate will support legal, HR, and compliance management. Will develop organizational policies and procedures; monitor risk and compliance infrastructure for educational program and charter network; and oversee employee relations, specifically driving the issue resolutions process supporting a positive and sustainable organizational culture. Report to Chief Operating Officer. Develop relevant organizational policies and procedures. Conduct legal and education law research to support designing best practice in policy and processes. Review special education trends and ensure organization adheres to state and federal mandates and regulations. Identify risks and develops proactive compliance and control techniques and recommendations. Formulate and recommend program goals and objectives in all areas of employee relations; responsible for developing, interpreting, and recommending program goals and objectives, policies, and procedures, and courses of action. Formulate Human Resource policies and processes. Should have a J.D. degree and be admitted in the State of Indiana. Must have experience in school law or related area (education policy or policy research). Should preferably have experience in employee relations and human resource management.
